The G8 & G20 Youth Summit is the premier international youth conference that bring together young leaders representing the Group of Eight (G8) and Group of Twenty (G20) nations to facilitate discussions of international affairs, promote cross-cultural understanding, and build global friendships.
The Summit is a global youth initiative that runs parallel to real world events concerning the G8 and G20. Our goal is to bring together young leaders from around the world to engage in dialogue about the most pressing issues facing our world today.
Founded in 2006, the Summit organizers have utilized the format of the G8 Summits to organize the paramount youth conference of its kind in the world.
Unlike the Model United Nations, the G8/G20 Youth Summit aims not only to model itself after the methods of a recognized world institution, but furthermore, to allow young people the freedom to express original thought and creative solutions.
Previous summits have taken place in St. Petersburg (2006), Berlin (2007), Tokyo & Yokohama (2008), Milan (2009) and Vancouver (2010). The 2011 summit will be held in Paris, France.
